VAHT: Musical Massage
VAHT; or Vibroacoustical Harp Therapy is a massage therapy utilizing live harp music that is imbedded in a massage bed. The harp music is transformed into vibrations that massage specific areas of the body all the way to the cellular level. VAHT practitioners use the full range of the unique timbre of the harp in therapy sessions.Studies show that the human body responds to frequencies of amplified sound above the 120 Hz range. Generally the dense body tissue responds to lower frequencies, while emotions and energy are stimulated by higher frequencies. The practitioner uses improvised music at the desired frequencies to tailor music to the client's needs. VAHT is an interactive massage technique.
Harp Therapy: Using live harp music usually with a smaller therapeutic harp at the bed side, in the doctor office and similar situations. The therapeutic musician determines what music to play through dialogue & observation of the client. The music will affect such things as: anxiety, stress, pain, fatigue, nauseousness, heart rate and many others.
